About Us

National Information and Cybersecurity Council (राष्ट्रीय सूचना और साइबर सुरक्षा परिषद), established in 2021, formed as a PPP (Public Private Partnership), jointly initiated by the Government of India and the industry. Its primary objective is to foster nationwide cybersecurity awareness.

The NICC’s mission is to forge a multi-stakeholder consortium that brings together corporations, state and central governments, academia, defense, multinational corporations (MNCs), public sector undertakings (PSUs), intelligence agencies, and enforcement agencies. This collaborative effort aims to enhance cybersecurity both domestically and internationally.

NICC has done extensive research to understand the nature of cyber threats and cyber crimes. We provide a Common Platform to facilitate efforts to provide an effective solution for innovative strategies and compliance procedures to curb the increasing complexity of global cyber threats.

In 2022, NICC was granted Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) status under the purview of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India. Its primary mandate is to spearhead and supervise the execution of diverse cybersecurity initiatives and research centers across national institutions.

NICC’s leadership team comprises Government-nominated members, bureaucrats, cybersecurity researchers, academicians, and industry experts.

As a part of G20 2023 (Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam) – India, NICC was solely responsible for conducting awareness programs, workshops, seminars and demonstrations on Cybersecurity all across India.
