The National Information and Cybersecurity Council (NICC) is seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team as Cybersecurity Interns. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in Cyber Threat Analysis: Conduct research and analysis on emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and attack vectors. Assist in monitoring and assessing the threat landscape to identify potential risks to national information systems.
- Support Security Operations: Assist in the implementation and maintenance of cybersecurity tools and technologies. Participate in security incident response activities, including triage, analysis, and remediation of security incidents.
- Contribute to Policy Development: Assist in the development and review of cybersecurity policies, procedures, and guidelines. Help ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices in cybersecurity.
- Cyber Awareness and Training: Support cybersecurity awareness and training initiatives aimed at promoting a culture of security within the organization. Develop educational materials and participate in cybersecurity awareness campaigns.
- Participate in Projects: Contribute to various cybersecurity projects, including risk assessments, security assessments, and penetration testing exercises. Collaborate with team members to achieve project objectives and deliverables.
- Stay Updated on Industry Trends: Stay informed about the latest trends, technologies, and threats in the field of cybersecurity. Attend training sessions, workshops, and conferences to enhance knowledge and skills.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Security, or a related field.
- Strong interest in cybersecurity and a desire to learn and grow in the field.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts, operating systems, and security principles.
- Familiarity with common cybersecurity tools and technologies is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
- Prior experience or coursework in cybersecurity is preferred but not required.
